While visiting WI immediately after returning from Vietnam in early 1970, Dave contacted me

to ask if I'd be his guest at a local Toastmasters dinner meeting, then held in the Hotel Eau Claire.

This was a most welcoming gesture to me at a time when many hometown and family receptions of

this nature were not too cordial.

I knew both Steve and Ginger from a number of shared classes starting in Junior High School and on through our days at ECMHS.  This photo, taken at our 45th-year class reunion in 2007. is exactly how I remember them.

My memories of Paul Chilgren go back to our junior high days where we shared

a number of classes:  Jonathan Tealey's multiple period in 8th grade, Sidney Wright's

forensics classes - debate and a few other classes on up thru ECMHS.  S.H. Craney

(and a few others) should recall being in those classes, too.  Good times.

Paul was on hand for some of our earlier reunions and again in 2012 for our 50th.  It

was nice to have a longer chat with him then.

Sorry to hear of his passing.

Another of my Lincoln School (9th Ward) classmates.  For a time, he lived nearby and we'd

walk to & from school at the same time, too.

Entering WI @ Hudson on I-94, 26 July 2007.

What follows are 350 photos of Eau Claire scenes, landmarks and classmates.

Just keep scrolling down. There may be some load time involved, depending on your browser and connection speed. If you have a choice of browsers, try for the one that best handles photo download & display.

For me, this happens to be Apple's "Safari" for PC.

All photos were taken 26-27-28 July 2007.

Not all photos have text explanations. I'll add more in the future, just takes time. You should be able to figure out most scenes.

Putting names with faces might be more of a challenge; it is to all of us after 45 - 50 years.

Classmate photos start at #188. Otherwise, these photos are presented mainly in the order taken as I wandered about Eau Claire by car and on foot...and at our scheduled reunion events, 27 and 28 July 2007.

I also wish to mention that the final 15 photos (approx.) are courtesy of Rick and Sandy Paus.

Nice to see a number of these historical marker signs placed about town. Some are along the walking trails, others are in parks, etc.
