My husband is retired from law enforcement and served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. As for me, I owned my own business and was a manufacturers representative for 22 companies for 14 years in the industrial electronics field. During that time also taught adult education for several years on How to Own and Operate Your Own Business, Business Principles, Marketing, Advertising and How to Write a Business Plan for the Purpose of Securing Funding. It was my privilege to be a speaker at several conventions and other functions and due to urging from several sources opened up Business Strategy Consultants doing marketing and advertising for companies connected in the food industry helping them place their products in major stores. During the span of my career, taught a college class via the music department investigating the effects of both background and foreground music and subliminal messages after authoring a research manual. Worked closely with many State associations in the Missouri area overseeing their publications, conventions and communications. Taught a weekly class at a Woman's Prison to help them adjust to society before release and for those who were doing a life sentence, worked with them on how to make their life count "blooming behind bars". As a side note, I would do it again in a heart beat as it was a learning experience...these were women who committed a crime at the direction of their spouse connected with embezzlement, drugs, or defending themselves from abuse. In later years and semi-retired, we owned a dairy franchise which specialized in hormone free dairy products and other gourmet foods being delivered to homes which led to our involvement in several gourmet coffee and food stores and also a mobile food business called All American Hot Dog Company.

I attended the Campus School in Eau Claire from the 7th grade and then Memorial High. Liked all of the teachers at Memorial enjoyed working on the yearbook and in the Library. Loved the librarians who were really great ladies with a sense of humor that I really appreciated. I remember taking a trip and the head librarian was driving. We drove through this little town and all of a sudden this loud siren went off and she had a panic attack and pulled to the curb. We all looked around to wait to see what was happening and it turned out to be the six o'clock whistle. She was funny and full of adventure and made it a memorable trip. I left school in late morning during my senior year and went to work for an accountant in downtown Eau Claire.
