My memories of Paul Chilgren go back to our junior high days where we shared

a number of classes:  Jonathan Tealey's multiple period in 8th grade, Sidney Wright's

forensics classes - debate and a few other classes on up thru ECMHS.  S.H. Craney

(and a few others) should recall being in those classes, too.  Good times.

Paul was on hand for some of our earlier reunions and again in 2012 for our 50th.  It

was nice to have a longer chat with him then.

Sorry to hear of his passing.

Welcome, Fred. We're happy you connected here. This is the place to find 1962 class reunion information, too. Our 60th rolls around in 2022! Jump in & comment whenever you like.

Another of my Lincoln School (9th Ward) classmates.  For a time, he lived nearby and we'd

walk to & from school at the same time, too.

Susanne York Wege,

Since you first joined us at ecmemorial62 dot com, I've admired your enthusiasm and active participation here. I think, more than any of us, you've immersed yourself by taking on an obviously valued and personal update of your high school memories. You've tackled this 'information download' as the ultimate Class of 1962 homework assignment, self-initiated.

Kudos, Sue!

It's quite clear you enjoy what you've learned, shared and recalled with so many of us.

I noted you posted, in French, a greeting to Jacqueline Buan. Have you had an opportunity to see and hear the DVD made at our 50th year reunion in 2012? Jacquelin gave a most interesting address to our class on her exchange student impressions and experiences.

She explained how her year in Eau Claire with our senior class and her host family made a lasting impact on her life and, with her husband, on her career.

I'm sure copies of our class reunion DVD might still be available if you've not already seen it. It would be worth a viewing prior to your attending our 55th -- I know I'll review it again.

Like some of us who have not lived in Eau Claire for many years, I understand the value of this web site for the pure memory recall value AND for any number of other personal reasons. Although I've managed to attend a majority of our reunions over the years, I have also come to rely on many of the inputs here to keep a continuity intact relating to indivual and civic events in my home town over the past half century.

When you do get to Eau Claire for a look around the city, don't feel bad that you'll do best with a GPS to guide you. I use mine, even though my 'core memory' of the city is still mainly intact -- it's just that it cuts off at year 1967 with only a few updates since then, gleaned mainly at our class reunions.

Thanks for joining us and for all your interesting interactions since that time. You have added a lot to our class spirit and we appreciate it. Richard Arnold tells us it's "The Spirit of Old Abe."

Entering WI @ Hudson on I-94, 26 July 2007.

What follows are 350 photos of Eau Claire scenes, landmarks and classmates.

Just keep scrolling down. There may be some load time involved, depending on your browser and connection speed. If you have a choice of browsers, try for the one that best handles photo download & display.

For me, this happens to be Apple's "Safari" for PC.

All photos were taken 26-27-28 July 2007.

Not all photos have text explanations. I'll add more in the future, just takes time. You should be able to figure out most scenes.

Putting names with faces might be more of a challenge; it is to all of us after 45 - 50 years.

Classmate photos start at #188. Otherwise, these photos are presented mainly in the order taken as I wandered about Eau Claire by car and on foot...and at our scheduled reunion events, 27 and 28 July 2007.

I also wish to mention that the final 15 photos (approx.) are courtesy of Rick and Sandy Paus.

Nice to see a number of these historical marker signs placed about town. Some are along the walking trails, others are in parks, etc.
